Philip Rivers And Wife Tiffany Expecting Ninth Child
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and his wife Tiffany are expecting their ninth child, as first reported by NBC Sports.
According to ESPN.com’s Eric Williams, the couple began dating in middle school and later married after Rivers’ freshman year at NC State. The couple has six girls including Halle, Sarah Catherine, Caroline, Grace, Rebecca and Clare, and two boys, Peter and Gunner.
Williams reports that Rivers did not want to move his wife and eight children when the team relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles, so he instead commutes to work in a luxurious SUV.
“Hesitant to move with eight children from their home in San Diego when the team moved ahead of the 2017 season, Rivers and Tiffany stayed put. Instead, Rivers commutes daily 90 or so miles in a customized SUV that houses a 40-inch TV capable of computer hookup so he can study film.”
Shortly after the news broke on Sunday, Rivers led the Chargers to a comeback victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. Trailing 23-7 at halftime, the 36-year old QB and his teammates rallied to outscore the Steelers 26-7 in the second half, en route to a 33-30 victory. Rivers finished with 299 passing yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions as the Chargers have quietly climbed to 9-3 on the season.
Following next Sunday’s Week 14 home game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Chargers will head to Arrowhead Stadium for a Thursday night showdown against the 10-2 Kansas City Chiefs.
